$2,200 #Bounty Tournament with a $1,000 Knockout
The one-day bounty tournament has come to an end, attracting 171 entries. The $150,000 guaranteed prize pool was more than doubled!
A total of 23 players made it into the money, but the ultimate champion was Adrian Sorel State from Romania! He took home $35,000 + bounties.
Right after his victory, we caught up with the champion to hear his thoughts:
Interview with Adrian Sorel State
🗣 You’ve been coming to Merit Poker for a while now. Tell us about your experience.
— The first time I came to Merit Poker was two years ago. I fell in love with this place instantly, and now this is already my 10th visit!
🗣 How does this victory feel compared to your previous deep runs?
— This is my first win here, my first Merit trophy. Before this, I made three different final tables at various festivals—one in the Warm-Up, one in the Main Event, and one in the High Roller.
🗣 How was today’s final table?
— It was very interesting! A shallow structure, bounties in play… but I love that kind of action!
🗣 What do you like most about Merit Poker?
— Ten trips here, and I still love it. It’s my favorite poker destination—great schedules, great players, just the best overall.
🗣 You also had a huge win recently at the PS Open in Campione for 363K euro. How does that compare?
— Yes! Just a week ago, I won the PS Open Main Event in Campione d’Italia. That was something special for sure—a massive field of 1,423 players. An amazing experience, and I’m so grateful for that! But the next day, I was already in Cyprus for my next tournament—it was all part of my schedule.
🗣 What’s next for you?
— The plan is simple—I’ll be back at Merit Poker in May for the MPP event. And then, of course, it’s off to WSOP!
Congratulations to Adrian Sorel State on his impressive victory! 🏆
